The Academy welcomes back award-winning San Francisco Chronicle columnist Heather Knight (@hknightsf on Twitter), in her Academy Forum return engagement on Wednesday, April 19 at 7pm. With so many challenges facing San Francisco, what can be done? And what are the obstacles to moving our city forward?
Heather last appeared at The Academy in February 2022, alongside her colleague, photographer Gabrielle Lurie, discussing their award-winning in-depth reporting on San Francisco's drug crisis. Dr. Ish Ruiz was the moderator of that event.
(Side note: we are amazed that event happened outside. This next event will happen in The Academy's new East Wing—comfortably indoors).
On April 19, Academy Co-Founder, Nate Bourg, will interview Heather and discuss both the good and the not-so-good about the current state of affairs in our city, with the goal of bringing forward constructive ideas and giving our attendees a better insight into issues that continue to be salient points of debate amongst those who live, work, and visit San Francisco.
We are expecting a sold-out event. Tickets are FREE for Academy Members, and just $20 for non-members. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to an organization of Heather's choosing (to be announced).
